Consolation

By Cindy O'Connor

Two equally estranged fellows
Named Frustration and Agitation
Approach me from across the
Valley of deserted thoughts,
Each plastered with evil grins
And appearing to be in cohoots
Over something very cynical.
At a distance of nearly two
Grave - lengths, eyes glaring,
I scream aloud in Conviction:
"Hey you two, come over here
And let me tell you something;
Though you may well be plotting
The demise of my two best friends,
Inspiration and Faith,
The simple fact is
God has everything under control.
And there's nothing you or Satan
Could ever do to take my soul away.
